Introduction Music has always been a huge part of my life. I can't remember a time when I didn't have to practice violin every day, and I met nearly all of my middle and high school friends through some orchestra or another. In some ways, my dedication to music has required a lot of sacrifices - there were countless times when I had to turn down invitations to parties and other social gatherings due to orchestra rehearsals, recitals, and/or competitions. However, looking back, I have absolutely no regrets - I didn't lose much in the long-run from missing all those parties, but I gained a deep understanding and appreciation of music that is priceless to me.
